Family and Career: Married for 18 years with three children (three daughters)
Randy and his family moved from Plano, Texas to Newtown in 2008 to be closer to family and for career opportunities. Randy and his wife Kathleen have three children in the Newtown School System; one at Sandy Hook Elementary, one at Reed Intermediate School, and one at the Newtown Middle School. Randy was born in Massachusetts, Kathleen was born in upstate New York and all three children were born in Texas. After Randy attended the University of Massachusetts, he resided in Massachusetts and was employed as an engineer with New England Electric. After several years he then joined General Electric where he held various positions throughout a 7-year period with his last position as Manager of Business Development in Plano, Texas. While in Texas, Randy earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University part time at night and on weekends while working at General Electric. Upon graduation, he was hired by Ericsson in Richardson, Texas and was Director of North American Sales for their Energy Systems Division. He then worked for several startup companies and his current employer Intrado relocated him to Connecticut back in 2008. He now manages Public Safety Sales for Intrado throughout the Northeast and Midwest regions. He really enjoys this position since it allows him to provide technical solutions that help save lives and to protect our citizens.
Randy has ensured that family was his first priority throughout a demanding career. He has spent many hours supporting his children in various sport events as well as driving his children to concerts, auditions, and games. When not working or spending time with family, Randy enjoys yard work, working out and personal financial management.
RANDY'S STORY OF IPN:
For the past several years, Randy like many other concerned citizens in this great country took a significant interest in the political landscape and the challenges faced by our local, state and federal representatives. While working with various levels of government in his position he felt that it was time to take a more active role and run for a local office where he could apply his experience to enhance our local government. By fate Randy met several members of the IPN party and after several discussions both Randy and the IPN organization felt there is strong alignment.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL POSITION:
Randy is a registered Republican who is seeking to serve on the Legislative Council as a member of the Independent Party of Newtown candidate for District Two. As a Legislative Council Member, Randy will pursue IPN’s principles of ACT (Accountability, Checks and Balances, and Transparency in Government). Randy's goal is to take a common sense approach to government and make sure we strive to improve the service to our community while balancing this with the reality that we need to lives within our means during these challenging economic times. In addition, he is aligned with the IPN's initiative to provide more transparency of government and how we establish budgets and prioritize capital improvement projects. For years Randy has been passionate and vocal about how government should better serve its citizens and now he is asking for your support to elect him into this position where he can make a difference.
VOTE FOR COMMON SENSE APPROACH TO GOVERNMENT:
Randy pledges his time and efforts to work diligently to enhance our government services within our community while weighing the associated costs. This common sense approach to government is no different than what all families are doing within our community every week and we need our local representatives to do the same. I request your support and ask you to do your part and vote for me on November 8th.
